RICHMOND AREA COMMUNITY VACCINATION CENTER (CVC) MOVES TO ARTHUR ASHE JUNIOR ATHLETIC CENTER

November 3, 2021– The Richmond-area CVC will soon move from Richmond Raceway to Arthur Ashe Junior Athletic Center. The last day at Richmond Raceway will be Saturday, November 6th. The CVC will reopen at Arthur Ashe on Monday, November 8th. Anyone with a scheduled appointment on or after November 8th should come to Arthur Ashe Junior Athletic Center (3001 N Arthur Ashe Blvd) at the same date and time as their original appointment. All individuals with a scheduled appointment will be notified.

The change is due to scheduling conflicts, but the Virginia Department of Health and Richmond and Henrico Health Districts are confident the new location will serve the greater Richmond area well. About 60,000 COVID-19 vaccines have been distributed at Arthur Ashe Junior Athletic Center when it was open as a mass vaccination site for four months earlier this year.

The newly opened CVC will offer Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson primary series and booster shots for adults, as well as Pfizer shots for kids. Walk-ups and appointments will continue at Arthur Ashe for vaccinations for those ages 12 and over. Kids ages 5-11 are asked to schedule an appointment; walk-ups will either be accepted if there’s same day availability or will be scheduled for another date and time.

Anyone interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine initial series or booster shot can visit vax.rchd.com or call 804-205-3501 to make an appointment.
