RICHMOND, VA <\/strong>\u2014 The Richmond and Henrico Health Districts (RHHD) celebrate National Nurses Week May 6 \u2013 12. National Nurses Week gives staff and residents the opportunity to recognize nurses for their service and dedication to caring for others.<\/p>\n

RHHD\u2019s own Nicole McCurrach has been named Virginia Department (VDH) of Health Central Region Nurse of the Year<\/a>, making her a candidate for VDH Nurse of the Year for the entire commonwealth. Nicole is a dedicated and experienced public health nurse with a diverse work history in various healthcare settings including the Newborn Nursery in a hospital setting, child\/adolescent mental health unit, home healthcare delivery, and public health nursing. Nicole was integral in RHHD\u2019s COVID-19 vaccination clinics, administering vaccines to the community and providing educational presentations about the importance of vaccination. Since then, Nicole has been instrumental in RHHD public health clinics and rabies response work.<\/p>\n

\u201cNicole embodies a passionate, spirited public health nurse who is focused on serving our community, no matter what the work entails,\u201d says Amy Popovich, RHHD \u00a0Community Health Nurse Manager. \u201cShe is dedicated, hard-working, and quality-driven. She makes clients feel comfortable and addresses their needs while making sure they receive accurate and timely medical information. We are thankful to have Nicole on our team!\u201d<\/p>\n
