These announcements were made at a press conference on Thursday, November 7 at <b><u><a id=\"LPlnkOWAd00f6522-46b4-3a0d-9b2c-2f2fc96c2987\" class=\"x_Hyperlink x_SCXW207816500 x_BCX0 x_OWAAutoLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stlukelegacycenter.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"1\">St. Luke Legacy Center<\/a><\/u><\/b>\u00a0in Richmond.<\/p>\n<p>The <b><u><a id=\"OWAa9dcb08b-a9f3-14c4-3386-f3e02de154ff\" class=\"x_Hyperlink x_SCXW213689346 x_BCX0 x_OWAAutoLink\" href=\"https:\/\/rhphf.org\/health-equity-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"2\">Richmond Health Equity Fund<\/a><\/u><\/b> invests in community-led programs, initiatives, and leaders to improve health and quality of life in communities experiencing deep health disparities and the longstanding impacts of racism.<\/p>\n<p>In October 2021, the City of Richmond established the Health Equity Fund to focus on key areas of health disparity through an initial investment of $5 million from federal American Rescue Plan Act funds. Since then, the HEF has diversified its funding source to include City of Richmond non-departmental funding and investments from <b><u><a id=\"OWAff9ef5c1-b77f-6138-973c-918163fcb717\" class=\"x_Hyperlink x_SCXW213689346 x_BCX0 x_OWAAutoLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cfrichmond.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"3\">The Community Foundation<\/a><\/u><\/b>, <b><u><a id=\"OWAf412d426-432c-f450-b496-7529947429d6\" class=\"x_Hyperlink x_SCXW213689346 x_BCX0 x_OWAAutoLink\" href=\"https:\/\/schaberg.foundation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"4\">Schaberg Foundation<\/a><\/u><\/b><b>, <\/b><b><u><a id=\"OWA47fff7cf-4165-03e6-ee6c-74d2c4763f09\" class=\"x_Hyperlink x_SCXW213689346 x_BCX0 x_OWAAutoLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.atlanticunionbank.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"5\">Atlantic Union Bank<\/a><\/u><\/b><b>,<\/b> and the <b><u><a id=\"OWA050e341b-26e7-20e2-7a22-9fe25225712a\" class=\"x_Hyperlink x_SCXW213689346 x_BCX0 x_OWAAutoLink\" href=\"https:\/\/robinsfdn.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"6\">Robins Foundation<\/a><\/u><\/b>.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>To-date, the HEF has designated $3.2 million, including $989,205 in new funding and an additional $388,240 in continued funding for community-based organizations providing services in the following areas:<b> <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div><b>Access to Healthcare and Education Resources<\/b><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Health Brigade<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Nationz Foundation<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Latinos in Virginia Empowerment Center<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><b>Chronic Disease and Underlying Health Conditions<\/b><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Community 50\/50<b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><b>Food Access and Security<\/b><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Richmond Food Justice Alliance<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Shalom Farms<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><b>Maternal and Child Health<\/b><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>St. Luke Legacy Center Foundation<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><b>Mental and Behavioral Health <\/b><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Empowering YOU for Positive Change<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>The Hive Mentality<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Virginia Anti-Violence Project<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><b>Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and\/or Recovery<\/b><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Help Me Help You Foundation<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>REAL LIFE<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>WHO Counseling Services<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The HEF is seeking new community members with professional and\/or lived experience with health challenges in Richmond to join the Community Advisory Committee (CAC). Committee members have a direct impact on the work of the of the Health Equity Fund. Together with our public health staff, the CAC selects partner organizations like the ones list above to receive funding. The <b><u><a id=\"OWAf542daed-c6a5-667a-704b-c23ac39cff06\" class=\"x_Hyperlink x_SCXW213689346 x_BCX0 x_OWAAutoLink\" href=\"https:\/\/redcap.vdh.virginia.gov\/redcap\/surveys\/?s=RRDPLK7PKKRLFTP9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"7\">CAC application<\/a><\/u><\/b> will remain open until November 26.
