RHHD Invites You to Give the Gift of Time for Giving Tuesday<\/span><\/b>
\nVolunteer with the Medical Reserve Corps<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

RICHMOND, Va. \u2013<\/span><\/b> This <\/span>Giving Tuesday<\/span><\/a>, Richmond and Henrico Health Districts (RHHD) encourage you to give one of the most meaningful gifts of all: your time. By joining the <\/span>Virginia Medical Reserve Corps<\/span><\/a> (MRC), you can make a lasting impact on public health and emergency preparedness right here at home.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGreater Richmond Medical Reserve Corps volunteers from many different backgrounds come together to help make our communities safer, stronger, and healthier,\u201d said Richmond and Henrico Health Districts Acting Local Health Emergency Coordinator Alyssa Lewis. \u201cVolunteering not only makes a difference in your community; it can also reduce your own stress and loneliness, provide a sense of purpose, improve your physical and mental health, and create lifelong friendships.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The MRC is a statewide network of volunteers who partner with <\/span>RHHD <\/span>year-round and step in during disasters and emergencies. Volunteers come from all walks of life. No medical degree is required. Whether you\u2019re a retiree looking to stay active, a student seeking service hours, or simply someone who wants to give back, there\u2019s a place for you in the MRC.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As an MRC volunteer, you\u2019ll receive free lifesaving <\/span>training<\/span><\/a>, gain valuable skills, and connect with new friends while serving your community. From health fairs to emergency response efforts, volunteers help keep families safe and healthy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
