Free COVID-19 Testing Sites in TJHD

Below are upcoming free testing sites hosted by TJHD and other community agencies. Note: These sites are offering free COVID PCR testing (nasal swab). TJHD and UVA are not offering antibody testing at community test sites.

Mondays – Charlottesville (hosted by UVA Health)

  • When: Mondays from 6-7:30pm
  • Where: Church of Incarnation, 1465 Incarnation Dr., Charlottesville, Va.
  • What: Drive-through and walk-up COVID-19 testing for people over the age of 6 months
  • No appointment needed.
  • Testing is focused on people who are at high risk, including front line workers and people with symptoms.
  • UVA Health will call people with their test results within 3 days.
  • Please note: UVA is NOT testing UVA affiliates (students or staff) at these community events. UVA students and staff should go to employee or student health or one of the testing events hosted by TJHD.

Tuesdays – Charlottesville (hosted by UVA Health)

  • When: Every Tuesday from 5:30-7:30pm
  • Where: Mount Zion First African Baptist Church, 105 Lankford Ave. Charlottesville, Va.
  • What: Drive-through and walk-up COVID-19 testing for people over the age of 6 months
  • No appointment needed.
  • Testing is focused on people who are at high risk, including front line workers and people with symptoms.
  • UVA Health will call people with their test results within 3 days.

Wednesday, October 28 – Charlottesville (hosted by TJHD)

  • When: Wednesday, October 28 from 5-7pm
  • Where: Charlottesville/Albemarle Health Department, 1138 Rose Hill Drive, Charlottesville, Va. (testing will be done outside the building)
  • What:  Free drive-through and walk-up COVID-19 testing for any one in the community over the age of 6.
  • Registration is FULL. 50 walk-in/drive-up tests will be available.
  • Individuals tested at a TJHD testing sites will receive a call within 4 days with test results. Minors (anyone under 18) MUST have someone over the age of 18 consent for them to be tested on the day of the site, at the site. It does not need to be a “legal guardian”, although preferred. Anyone over 18 can consent for anyone under 18.

Monday, November 2 – Nelson (hosted by TJHD)

  • When: Monday, November 2 from 5-7pm
  • Where: Rockfish Presbyterian Church, 5016 Rockfish Valley Hwy, Nellysford, Va.
  • What:  Free drive-through and walk-up COVID-19 testing for any one in the community over the age of 6.
  • Call in advance to schedule an appointment to guarantee a test time slot. There are 50 appointments available and 50 walk-in tests.

    • Walk-in testing is available.

  • What:  Free drive-through and walk-up COVID-19 testing for any one in the community over the age of 6.

For antibody testing, you should contact your primary care provider (PCP). If you do not have a PCP, Central Virginia Health Services and the Charlottesville LabCorps is offering antibody testing (see information above).
