The entire hospital has been instrumental in reducing CAUTIs at Henrico Doctors\u2019<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW151284793 BCX0\"> Hospital<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW151284793 BCX0\">. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW151284793 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW151284793 BCX0\">It starts in the Emergency Department with <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW151284793 BCX0\">urinary catheters <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW151284793 BCX0\">only being placed when <\/span><span class=\"AdvancedProofingIssue SCXW151284793 BCX0\">absolutely necessary<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW151284793 BCX0\">, then responsibility moves to the inpatient units where daily conversations are held to assess the need for the <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW151284793 BCX0\">catheter<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW151284793 BCX0\">.\u00a0 Infection Prevention reviews urinalysis and urine culture orders on patients with <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW151284793 BCX0\">catheters<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW151284793 BCX0\">, ensuring good culture stewardship.\u00a0 Physicians are engaged with the infection prevention and nursing teams in the conversations about <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW151284793 BCX0\">catheter<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW151284793 BCX0\"> and urine culture necessity.
