Vaccine Ordering Guidance
Enrolled providers may order vaccine as often as necessary. If your last order and inventory were entered within 14 days, CDC’s ordering system does not require new inventories. CDC recommends that providers place orders when they have a four-week supply of vaccine to
ensure sufficient vaccine stock and allow for any
potential delays. Contact your VFC consultant or the order center for assistance.
Temperature Excursions and Stability Guidance
GSK, Sanofi Pasteur, and Pfizer have electronic, self-service tools to determine if data support the stability of vaccine at the temperature and excursion time provided by healthcare professionals. The tools provide letters containing the temperature stability information required by the order center for all temperature excursions.

Adult Vaccine Update
The FDA approved Prevnar 20, Pfizer’s Pneumococcal 20-valent Conjugate Vaccine for ages 18 years or older. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) is expected to meet in October to discuss and update recommendations on the safe and appropriate use of pneumococcal vaccines in adults. The seven additional serotypes in PCV20 account for approximately 40 percent of all pneumococcal disease cases and deaths in the U.S.
