Comprehensive Cancer Control

Virginia Comprehensive Cancer Control Program’s Mission

To reduce the incidence, morbidity, and mortality of all cancers through prevention, early detection, treatment, and rehabilitation. VACCCP is working towards accomplishing its mission by developing partnerships, delivering health information, providing training, and shaping policy. The work conducted by the VACCCP and our community partners is guided by the Virginia Cancer Plan and includes activities that:

  • Encourage people to live a healthier lifestyle,
  • Promote cancer screening tests,
  • Increase access to cancer care, and
  • Improve the quality of life for cancer survivors

The Cancer Action Coalition of Virginia (CACV)

VACCCP partners with the Cancer Action Coalition of Virginia (CACV), a statewide network of partners, who helped produce the 2013-2017 Virginia Cancer Plan to address the burden of cancer in Virginia by implementing goals, objectives and strategies outlined in the Virginia Cancer Plan.

Tobacco Free Living

Tobacco use increases the risk for many cancers. The Virginia Tobacco QuitLine is a free service that helps Virginians quit smoking and using tobacco.
