Current Events
In response to the recent interruptions in the water supply in Richmond City, Henrico County, Goochland County, and part of Hanover County , the VDH Office of Epidemiology is monitoring emergency department (ED) and urgent care visit data daily for the affected areas to monitor whether the number of people seeking care for gastrointestinal (GI) illnesses becomes elevated. To date, there is no indication that there are elevated rates of GI illness occurring in counties impacted by water supply interruptions.
More information for clinicians is available at VDH's Richmond Water Plant Response webpage.
