Central Shenandoah Health District Announces
New Health Department Location in Waynesboro 

(STAUNTON, Va.) — The Central Shenandoah Health District is pleased to announce the opening of a new health department location in the City of Waynesboro. Beginning Monday, October 16, the public can begin receiving services at 540 Lew Dewitt Blvd., Suite 5, in Waynesboro.

“After an extensive search, we are excited to announce a new location for the Waynesboro-Augusta Health Department,” said Dr. Elaine Perry, acting health director. “Our staff look forward to resuming vital public health services for the Waynesboro community at our new location.”

Services that will be immediately available to the public starting on October 16 will include accessing vital records such as birth, marriage, divorce, and death certificates, and other environmental health permitting applications. Clinical services such as immunizations and STI testing/treatment are anticipated to be available at this location in late 2023 or early 2024. Waynesboro residents can still access clinical services at the Staunton-Augusta Health Department.

The health department will be open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. For more information or to make an appointment, residents may call (540) 949-0137. Central Shenandoah Health District Announces Availability
of New 2023-2024 COVID-19 Vaccine

STAUNTON, Va — The Central Shenandoah Health District (CSHD) is now offering the 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine for all members of the community six months of age and older. Walk-ins will not be accepted, so the public is encouraged to make an appointment by calling their local health department office. Appointments can be made by contacting the following health departments:
