Excerpt from www.solowfa.com: “Mired in the wilderness of an urban disaster zone, rural area / remote travel not near a hospital, or natural area miles from an access point … Hands-on learn how to save life and limb during the critical minutes or hours before ambulance / hospital hand-off.

The MEDIC SOLO Disaster + Travel + Wilderness First Aid Course is a blended experience of classroom and hands-on learning. ~50% of student time is spent rotating as mock rescuer and mock patient in realistic care-giving scenarios, making the most of learning-by-doing, and forming muscle memory.”

When: June 15-16, 8:30am-6:30pm or 7pm both days.

Where: Charlottesville, VA.

Who: “For adults and teenagers with solid attention spans.”

For medical professionals: In a disaster setting, there may be no ambulance or clinical supplies or testing capabilities. This course will teach you how to improvise care with nearly none of this. For more information, see: https://www.solowfa.com/why-enroll-MEDIC-disaster-wilderness-first-aid-stories/for-medical-professionals.htm

How: To secure the discount for MRC: (1) pay close attention to the “Special Deals” small text in the payment section of the registration form at www.solowfa.com, and (2) submit with the payment a copy of your MRC badge (fine if expired) or other paperwork showing you’re part of MRC. Questions should go to courses@solowfa.com
