Vaccination (all time reporting)

Vaccination

Being up to date with the COVID-19 vaccine is the best way to protect people from serious illness, hospitalization and death from COVID-19. The total doses administered represents the total doses administered to individuals in Virginia. Monitoring data on the percent of Virginians who have been vaccinated provides information on statewide COVID-19 immunity. ^ Primary series includes persons who received one dose of a single-dose vaccine or two doses with proper intervals of either a mRNA or a protein-based series. When the vaccine manufacturer is not reported, the recipient is considered to have completed their primary series with two doses for vaccines administered through April 18, 2023. As of April 19, 2023 primary series also includes persons 5 and older who have received one dose of a bivalent mRNA vaccine or persons 6 months to 4 years old who have received one to three doses of a bivalent mRNA vaccine with proper intervals depending on their previous vaccination history. Up to date includes persons who have received all recommended doses of COVID-19 vaccine per the current CDC definition.
