VDH utilizes satellite phone coverage in an emergency when normal modes of communication are inaccessible. Two types of phones are available: Globalstar and Isat2. Information for both are linked below. Globalstar phones are not currently active, but can be reactivated in an emergency. Isat2 phones are currently active.
Testing:
Active satellite phones should be tested at least once a month. To test the phone call 804-864-7572 and follow the directions. More testing information is located here.
