Mount Rogers Health District and Twin County Community Foundation Host Free Vaccine Clinics

(Marion, Va.) – Mount Rogers Health District, along with the Twin County Community Foundation, will be offering free vaccines to residents of Carroll and Grayson Counties and the city of Galax at vaccine clinic events.

Only seasonal influenza (“flu”) vaccine will be offered at these community events. Community members may schedule appointments at the local health department for Tdap, pneumonia 13, pneumonia 23, hepatitis A and hepatitis B vaccines. There will be no cost to participants for any vaccines. Vaccines will be billed to insurance or paid for by the Twin County Community Foundation grant, if insurance does not cover the cost.

“We are thrilled to once again be able to offer free vaccines to our community,” said Karen Shelton, M.D., director of the Mount Rogers Health District. “Flu vaccination will be critical this year as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. We encourage everyone to come get a free flu shot at a clinic and to take advantage of additional vaccine options at the local health department.”

  • The Carroll County clinic will be held Wednesday, October 21 from 1 – 6 p.m. at Carroll County Middle School, 1036 North Main Street, Hillsville.
  • The Galax clinic will be held Wednesday, October 28 from 1 – 6 p.m. at Galax Parks and Recreation, 601 South Main Street, Galax.
