No-Cost COVID Vaccination Offered to Persons 65 and Older Page County High School – Friday, January 22 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Lord Fairfax Health District continues Phase 1b of the COVID Vaccine Campaign

(Winchester, Va.) — The Page County Health Department, Lord Fairfax Health District, will offer no-cost COVID Vaccines, Friday, January 22 from 9 a.m. until 1p.m., at the Page County High School, 184 Panther Drive, Shenandoah, VA, to those 65 and older.

“With the continued outstanding collaboration of our community partners, we in the northern Shenandoah Valley have made substantial progress in Phase 1b of the COVID vaccination campaign,” said Lord Fairfax Health District Director Colin Greene. “This newest effort follows the Governor’s recent directive to ‘put shots in arms,’ and will offer vaccines to an area of the Health District distant from large healthcare facilities. It will complement the ongoing vaccine clinics conducted by Valley Health Systems at Page Memorial Hospital, and is part of a continuing series of vaccine offerings through the winter and spring.”

This Point of Dispensing (POD) operation will be open to anyone age 65 and older, the people who are most at risk of death from COVID-19 disease. Those vaccinated at this event will be given directions on receiving their second vaccine as well. To avoid overcrowding, LFHD requests that people stagger their arrival times based on the first letter of their last names: A to D should arrive at 9 a.m.; E to H at 10; I to P at 11; and Q to Z at noon. Upon arrival, each person will be given a numbered registration sheet, and asked to remain warm in their car until their number is called.

To protect yourself and healthcare workers, please wear a cloth face covering or mask. Keep at least six feet of distance between yourself and other people at all times. Everyone is encouraged to continue safe practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19: cloth face-coverings or masks, distancing, washing hands well and often, and avoiding gatherings with anyone who is not a member of your household.
