Norfolk Health Department Offers Free COVID-19 Moderna Vaccines at Gethsemane Community Fellowship Baptist Church

NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk Department of Public Health is offering free COVID-19 Moderna vaccines on Saturday, Sept. 18 from 1 – 4 p.m. at Gethsemane Community Fellowship Baptist Church, at 1317 E. Brambleton Ave., in Norfolk.

This one-time clinic will offer to the public the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine (first and second dose) for anyone 18 and older. No appointments are needed and walk ups are welcomed.

“The Norfolk Department of Public Health appreciates the partnerships with our local churches so we can help serve the community,” said Dr. Parham Jaberi, acting district health director for Norfolk. “We realize the importance of going out into the local community to provide vaccine clinics, which serve as another layer of helping our communities achieve vaccination efforts. Vaccination is the most important public health action to end the COVID-19 pandemic.”

New CDC guidelines recommend continuing to wear a mask correctly, stay at least six feet from others outside of your household, avoid crowds and poorly ventilated spaces, and wash your hands often.

For any questions, please contact the Norfolk COVID-19 hotline: (757)-683-2745.
