Peninsula Health Center Closure; Altered Locations and Service Availability

(NEWPORT NEWS, Va.) – Due to the incident which occurred last Thursday, March 9, the Peninsula Health Center (PHC) building, located at 416 J Clyde Morris Blvd. in Newport News will remain closed until further notice. Peninsula Health District’s operations will be altered. Please see information regarding our in-house services below:

Family Planning & STI Clinical Services – Family Planning (FP) and STI client appointments for Monday, March 13 (all day) and Tuesday, March 14 (8 a.m.-noon) have been canceled. We are working with clients to reschedule those appointments. Beginning Tuesday, March 14, FP and STI services will be redirected to the Hampton Health District (HHD) building, located at 3130 Victoria Blvd., Hampton, Va. 23661.

Immunization Clinical Services – Immunization client appointments for Monday, March 13, (all day) and Tuesday, March 14 (8 a.m.-noon) have been canceled. We are working with clients to reschedule those appointments. Beginning Tuesday, March 14, immunization services will be redirected to Riverside Medical Center’s Annex D Building (see map), located at 500 J Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News, Va. 23601.

COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic – The COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be held at the HHD building, located at 3130 Victoria Blvd., Hampton, Va. 23661, Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-12 noon and 1-2:30 p.m.

Vital Records – Vital Records (VR) appointments for Monday, March 13 (all day) have been canceled. We are working with clients to reschedule those appointments. Beginning Tuesday, March 14, VR appointments will be redirected to either the HHD building, located at 3130 Victoria Blvd., Hampton, Va. 23661, or the Williamsburg James City County building, located at 5300 Palmer Lane, Williamsburg, Va. 23188.

Environmental Health – Beginning Tuesday, March 14, individuals seeking permits and/or other Environmental Health appointments, will be redirected to the HHD building, located at 3130 Victoria Blvd., Hampton, Va. 23669, or the Williamsburg- James City County building, located at 5300 Palmer Lane, Williamsburg, Va. 23188.

WIC – Peninsula Health Center WIC client appointments are conducted via phone. For anyone in need of pick-up, beginning Monday, March 13, clients will be redirected to the York/Denbigh WIC building, located at 606 Denbigh Blvd., Suite 304, Newport News, Va. 23608.

We are establishing a HPHD Call Line to address any questions you may have regarding rescheduling, locations, and services. We plan to provide that number early this week.
