As of July 1, 2018, food establishments (including temporary food establishments) need to have at least one employee with supervisory and management responsibilities and the authority to direct and control food preparation and service who is a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM). In-person Food Service Employees classes will be held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, as listed below. Please note that class dates marked with an asterisk (*) have been modified due to scheduling. All classes will be held at 2:00 p.m at 830 Southampton Ave, Norfolk, VA in Classroom B/C located on the third floor. * Registration begins 30 minutes prior to the start of class.
In the event a holiday falls on a regularly scheduled class day, the class will be cancelled. This will NOT change the other regularly scheduled classes. The classes are approximately 90 minutes in length. Class participants will receive a Food Handler Card at the end of the class. Food Handler Cards are valid for two years. Class will start promptly at the times listed above. No admittance once class has started. Seating is limited to class participants only.

Test Language Availability:
The test is available in several different languages including Spanish, Modem Chinese,
Traditional Chinese, Korean, Japanese and English.
YOU MUST REQUEST A FOREIGN LANGUAGE EXAMINATION AT LEAST TWO MONTHS PRIOR
TO ATTENDING CLASS TO ALLOW FOR DELIVERY TIME.
Cancellation Policy:
Participants must call to cancel at least 2 business days prior to their scheduled class date to receive a refund. There is a non-refundable administration and materials fee of $45.00 for the Certified Food Manager Course.
Transfer Policy:
Participants must call to cancel at least 2 business days prior to their scheduled class date to request a transfer into a different class. Participants can only transfer once. No refund will be issued after a transfer has been requested.
