COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboards

There are several factors that should be expected to result in an ongoing difference between the number of COVID-19 vaccine doses received and the number of doses administered is expected due to several factors. The vaccine is received in large quantities, to be administered in clinics over the next 7 to 10 days. It may then take up to 72 hours for vaccine providers to report doses administered to Virginia Immunization Information System (VIIS) up to 72 hours after administration.

Doses Received: Cumulative counts of COVID-19 vaccine doses (Moderna and Pfizer) recorded as shipped in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Vaccine Tracking System (VTrckS) since December 13, 2020. Doses received include vaccine allocated to the Federal CDC Pharmacy Partnership for Long Term Care Facilities.

Percent of First Doses Administered: The percent of first doses administered is the proportion of first doses administered divided by the number of first doses received.

Percent of Second Doses Administered: The percent of second doses administered is the proportion of second doses administered divided by the number of first doses received.

Note: Getting the COVID-19 vaccine is sometimes a two-step process. A person will get one shot, or dose, of the vaccine. After 3-4 weeks, a person will need to get a second dose of the vaccine. Getting both doses of the vaccine is important. This will help the vaccine protect people from getting COVID-19 or becoming as sick if they do get COVID-19.

A list of healthcare providers currently partnering with VDH to administer vaccine and how many vaccines they have received and administered can be found here. This is NOT a comprehensive list of locations where the public may access the COVID-19 vaccine and does not indicate the number of doses available for public distribution. Many organizations and local health departments partner to deliver vaccines at community events, and some providers are coordinating with VDH to serve specific populations, such as long-term care facilities. Please visit your local health department's website for opportunities to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, or pre-register here.
