VDH’s Crater Health District is a state-city/county cooperative health service of seven health departments in south central Virginia.
The district begins 23 miles south of Richmond and extends south to the North Carolina state border. In our district, we have more than 160,000 people with varying health needs.
We work to build resilient communities throughout the cities of Petersburg, Hopewell, and Emporia, as well as the counties of Greensville, Surry, Sussex Dinwiddie, and Prince George.
