The Virginia Office of EMS is excited to announce two new features of the OEMS Portal:
Criminal Background Check Eligibility Notification memo – December 13, 2021
- As of January 1, 2022, EMS agencies will be able to and must affiliate all non-certified personnel in their OEMS agency Portal. All non-certified personnel members (drivers/firefighters) are required to create an OEMS portal account and obtain a unique nine digit OEMS number and affiliate in the OEMS portal with their EMS agency for Fingerprint submission.
- Starting January 1, 2022, all background check eligibility notifications will be posted directly to agency membership listings in the portal. OEMS will no longer email eligibility notifications. No longer will you need to open emails, print the eligibilities letter and add them to your personnel files.
