NOTICE AND DESCRIPTION OF SHELLFISH AREA CONDEMNATION
NUMBER 021U-058, EASTERN BRANCH CORROTOMAN RIVER
EFFECTIVE 15 DECEMBER 2025
Pursuant to Title 28.2, Chapter 8, §§ 28.2-803 through 28.2-808, § 32.1-20, and § 2.2-4002, B.16 of the Code of Virginia:
1. The “Notice and Description of Shellfish Area Condemnation Number 021U-058, Eastern Branch Corrotoman River,” effective 15 November 2024, is cancelled effective 15 December 2025.
2. Condemned Shellfish Area Number 021U-058, shown as Sections A through F, is hereby established effective 15 December 2025. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to take shellfish from these areas for any purpose, except by permit granted by the Marine Resources Commission, as provided in § 28.2-810 of the Code of Virginia. The boundaries of these areas are shown on the map titled “Eastern Branch Corrotoman River, Condemned Shellfish Number 021U-058, 15 December 2025” which is part of this notice.
3. The Department of Health will receive, consider and respond to petitions by any interested person at any time with respect to reconsideration or revision of this order.
BOUNDARIES OF CONDEMNED AREA NUMBER 021U-058
A. The condemned area shall include that portion of Hills Creek and its tributaries lying upstream of a line drawn from latitude / longitude map coordinate (37°42'36.4",-76°27'50.6") to map coordinate (37°42'31.7",-76°27'49.5").
B. The condemned area shall include that portion of the Eastern Branch of the Corrotoman River and its tributaries lying upstream of a line drawn from latitude / longitude map coordinate (37°43'09.1",-76°26'06.4") to map coordinate (37°43'01.4",-76°26'05.3").
C. The condemned area shall include all of Punches Cove lying upstream of a line drawn from latitude / longitude map coordinate (37°43'13.6",-76°26'24.3") to map coordinate (37°43'13.3",-76°26'22.0").
D. The condemned area shall include all of the unnamed tributary of the Eastern Branch of the Corrotoman River lying upstream of a line drawn from latitude / longitude map coordinate (37°42'57.5",-76°26'20.9") to map coordinate (37°42'56.8",-76°26'18.6").
E. The condemned area shall include all of the unnamed tributary of the Eastern Branch of the Corrotoman River lying upstream of a line drawn from latitude / longitude map coordinate (37°42'37.7",-76°27'15.3") to map coordinate (37°42'38.8",-76°27'12.3").
F. The condemned area shall include all of Bells Creek and its tributaries lying upstream of a line drawn from latitude / longitude map coordinate (37°42'47.8",-76°27'30.3") to map coordinate (37°42'55.9",-76°27'29.4").
