VFC Training

Annual Immunization Training

Annual training is required of both the primary and backup VFC coordinators and it is strongly recommended to be completed by all additional relevant staff.

There are 4 options for completing annual training:

    1. Participate in a VFC compliance visit.
    2. Complete the Vaccines for Children and Vaccine Storage & Handling Modules of the CDC’s You Call the Shots online training found here:  https://www.cdc.gov/immunization-training/hcp/you-call-the-shots/index.html
    3. Complete the CDC’s VFC Pre-Test found here (for those who have already completed option 2 in the past): https://www2.cdc.gov/vaccines/ed/vfc/vfc/
    4. Review the Annual Training Document found here: https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/content/uploads/sites/11/VFC-Annual-Training-Document.pdf

Once completed, please fax or email the certificates/letters of completion to your regional consultant.

Vaccine Ordering Management System (VOMS)

UPDATE: All VOMS training materials previously available in this section are now housed in the Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS is a learning management tool that organizes and centralizes Virginia Immunization Information System (VIIS) resources for users.

  • If you have not created a LMS account, please create an account to access the VOMS resources (e.g. Quick Reference Guides and training videos).
  • Moving forward all VIIS training materials will be posted to the LMS.

NOTE: VERIP Online Ordering Module is no longer available.

  • The new VIIS launched June 24, 2025.  As part of this system transition, VDH streamlined onboarding for vaccine ordering through the VOMS.
  • The transition by providers to the VOMS was requested to be completed by December 31, 2025.
