The Western Tidewater Health District is currently in Phase 1b

The Statewide Pre-Registration System for the COVID-19 vaccine is live!  Please visit vaccinate.virginia.gov to pre-register for a FREE COVID-19 vaccine.

All individuals who have previously filled out a survey or form or signed up for a waitlist to be vaccinated through their local health district will be automatically imported into the new statewide system. Individuals will maintain their current status in the queue, and will be able to search that they are in the new system.

CoronavirusCOVID-19 (“Coronavirus Disease 2019”) is an infectious respiratory disease caused by a new (novel) coronavirus that initially emerged December 2019. COVID-19 is spread primarily through respiratory droplets (meaning moisture that comes from coughing, sneezing, singing, or talking). These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. Spread is more likely when people are in close contact with one another. Accurate, reliable information about COVID-19 is critical at this time to keep you informed and help you prepare & respond. Current Western Tidewater Health District Vaccination Phase

Based on limited supply of the vaccine, currently, we are vaccinating priority group 1A and beginning to vaccinate some of priority group 1B.

Priority Group 1A:

  • Healthcare Personnel (hospitals and non-hospital healthcare workers)
  • Long-Term Care Facilities

Priority Group 1B:

  • Frontline Essential Workers (Police/Fire/Hazmat, Corrections and Homeless shelter workers, and childcare/PreK-12 teachers/staff)
  • People Age 75+
  • People Age 65+ with an underlying medical condition

The mission of the Western Tidewater Health District is to protect the health and promote the well-being of all people in Western Tidewater. The district team proudly supports Isle of Wight County, Southampton County, and the independent cities of Franklin and Suffolk in southeastern Virginia.
