All existing WIC Retailer Agreements expire as of September 30, 2023. To become reauthorized under the new retailer agreement (beginning October 1, 2023, ending September 30, 2026) each WIC authorized store must:
- Have at least one manager attend a mandatory training session.
- Submit a new completed retailer agreement.
MANDATORY TRAINING
WIC TRAINING FORMAT:
The Virginia WIC Program has prepared a 1-hour training video that will be used at each mandatory training session.
- Companies with Certified WIC Trainers will be granted access to obtain the video file to conduct their own live interactive training. To obtain the video file, download the files on this web page or contact Ephraim.Ewing@vdh.virginia.gov
- Companies without a Certified WIC Trainer will attend an interactive training session provided by the Virginia WIC Program. To register select the “Register for Webinar” hyperlink on this web page.
WIC TRAINING FOR COMPANIES WITH A CERTIFIED WIC TRAINER:
Each company with Certified WIC Trainers may use their Certified WIC Trainers to complete mandatory WIC reauthorization training. Each company headquarters should provide details to Certified WIC Trainers on the deployment of WIC training and scheduling for individual stores. The State WIC Office will provide guidance and instructions to Certified WIC Trainers on what must be covered during the reauthorization training during a webinar scheduled for April 25, 2023, at 9:30am or April 26, 2023 at 1:30pm.

At least one store management representative must attend any one of the scheduled mandatory training webinars listed below. Space is limited, so please register early to attend the live webinar session you wish to attend. Do not use android or apple mobile devices to attend a webinar as you will not receive credit. Your assigned WIC ID number is required to register.

Companies that operate one WIC authorized store will receive their retailer agreement package from the state WIC office. Instructions on how to complete and submit your WIC retailer agreement will be included.

Companies that operate more than two WIC authorized stores will receive a retailer agreement package sent through email to the company’s primary contact email account on file.
