BOATING INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT PROGRAM
VDH has been designated by the US Department of the Interior as the lead agency to implement a grant program to fund projects to construct, renovate, or maintain facilities for transient non-trailerable recreational vessels. This competitive grant program, known as the “Boating Infrastructure Grant Program,” will be administered through the Marina Program in cooperation with the Virginia Institute of Marine Science(VIMS). Eligible projects designed to accommodate boats 26 feet or greater in length, include buoys, day docks, restrooms, dockside utilities and similar structures. Initially, the Sea Grant Program staff at VIMS will conduct a survey of needs and work with the Marina Program staff to develop a grant program plan.
