About VIPTA

Who We Are

VIPTA's mission is to promote awareness of and improve access to infection prevention and control (IPC) resources and events in Virginia.  We aim to create a statewide network of IPC partners who work together to prevent healthcare-associated infections and antimicrobial resistance.

In summer 2021, the newly reformed Virginia HAI Advisory Group (VHAG) Infection Prevention (IP) Education Workgroup founded the idea of creating an IPC education collaborative.  From the start, the goals of this collaborative were to breakdown silos and share the amazing IPC-related work happening in Virginia.  Since then, a dedicated group of approximately 20 IP Education Workgroup members have been planning and building what we now refer to as the Virginia Infection Prevention and Control Training Alliance (VIPTA).

Check out the VIPTA FAQ page for more details about us.
