Coming Soon! VA CACFP Week 2022
What is Virginia CACFP Week?
Virginia CACFP Week is part of the annual National CACFP Week education and information campaign sponsored by the National CACFP Sponsors Association in the third week of March. This campaign is designed to raise awareness of how USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program works within its communities to combat hunger and promote accessibility of nutritious meals to those in need. The CACFP brings healthy foods to tables across the country in child care centers, family day care homes, afterschool programs, and adult day facilities.
In celebration of the impact CACFP operators make in their communities the nutrition programs at the Virginia Department of Health and Virginia Department of Education, with the support of community partners, host a week full of virtual events specifically for Program operators. These events and social media campaign are intended to promote and recognize the integral role the CACFP plays in supporting the health and wellbeing of all Virginians.
VACACFP Week Resources
Thank you to all of our Program operators and community partners who turned out for #VACACFP Week 2021 to celebrate the Virginia CACFP and how we are feeding Virginia, together. It was a wild success! We kicked off our first annual social media campaign with Snap Your Snack! and celebrated all of the wonderful ways CACFP impacts the lives of those in our Program Operators’ care. More than ever we are excited to carry the celebration and recognition of those doing so much in our communities as we move forward into 2022. While we’ve got plenty more to do in 2022, check out all the fun we had in 2021!
