The Virginia Department of Health, as a core partner, provides ongoing support including state and local public health collaboration, chronic disease prevention program training and resources, chronic disease data, leadership and advocacy training, funding opportunities, survey and newsletter design, and webpage maintenance.

Mission: Our mission is to enhance and extend the quality of life for the entire Diamond Hill community.

Vision: Our vision is to create an environment that fosters a legacy of self-care, neighborhood pride, and the importance of heart health.

Lynchburg LC Goals:

  • Create awareness of community resources that promote heart health
  • Encourage positive changes regarding mind, body, and soul
  • Educate youth and adults on risks associated with nicotine and marijuana
  • Increase access to care for both heart health and social needs, e.g. food and transportation.

Lynchburg Learning Collaborative

The Lynchburg Healthy Heart Learning Collaborative had the privilege of collaborating with Lynchburg Parks & Rec staff for the Diamond Hill Neighborhoods first Senior Health & FItness Day!  Each member of the Lynchburg LC played a vital role in making this event a success. Other groups and organizations came together to show Diamond Hill residents ways they can stay active such as Tapdancing, chair exercises, and karate! We also included a blood pressure screening station!
