Resources for Parents and Expectant Parents

 

WIC

WIC (Women, Infants and Children) is a nutritional education and free food voucher program for qualified women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.  A Breastfeeding Peer Counselor is available to answer questions concerning infant feeding options.

Baby Care

Free education and case management services provided by a registered nurse to pregnant women and infants up to 2 years of age who are Medicaid eligible.

Resource Mothers

A special mentoring program for first time pregnant or parenting teens.  Teens will receive education about taking care of themselves and their infants up to one year of age.  Teens will benefit from assistance with setting educational goals, accessing healthcare, and planning for the future care of their infant.

Car Seat Program

Free, new car seats, including infant convertible seats and booster seats for older children, are available to families who qualify.  Parents must attend a short instructional session to learn the correct placement and use of the car seat or booster seat.  To inquire about safety seat availability, please call your local health department.
