Vital Records

For information concerning vital records, please call your local health department between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Death, birth, marriage and divorce certificates are available for events that occur in the State of Virginia to eligible persons. Certified copies are $12 each.

Please provide a good phone number so you can make your payment over the phone by credit card.

You are always very welcome to submit your application in person  between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

 

IMPORTANTVital Records are available to immediate family members only- mother, father, husband, wife, child, brother, sister and grandparents with valid ID. 

Birth records can be issued to the legal guardian with proof of custody papers.

Aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, etc. cannot obtain a Vital Record.
