
HIV and Hepatitis Prevention Summit: March 25-26
Join VDH for the 2025 HIV and Hepatitis Prevention Summit, where you can learn about the latest best practices in HIV and Hepatitis prevention. This will be an in-person event and is open to anyone interested in:

- Comprehensive Harm Reduction,
- nPEP (non-occupational Post-Exposure Prophylaxis),
- service navigation, or
- PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis).
The summit will be held on March 25 and 26 at the Four Points Sheraton at 9901 Midlothian Turnpike in Richmond. The Division of Disease Prevention (DDP) encourages community partners to attend. The event is also open to other organizations interested in collaborating with the Division.
Please note that you must pre-register to attend the summit by Monday, March 10, 2025.

Medication Access Transition Went Live February 1, 2025
As of February 1, 2025, Direct Virginia Medication Assistance Program (VA MAP) clients (those uninsured) will pick up medications at Walgreens pharmacy locations throughout the state. They also have the option of having their medication mailed to their homes. Clinical Webinar Series: Congenital Syphilis & HIV
The Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine’s HIV Education Program is pleased to partner with the Virginia HIV/AIDS Resource and Consultation Center (VHARCC), MidAtlantic AIDS Education and Training Center (MAAETC), and the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) to provide a clinical webinar series on congenital syphilis and HIV.

Welcome
HIV & Hepatitis Surveillance (HHS) welcomes Aleksandra (Sasha) Vasilyeva to the HIV Case Surveillance team. Sasha will primarily be assisting with HIV Case Surveillance activities in the Northern region. Sasha has a master’s in public health from George Washington University and a background in Biology. She has prior experience in vaccine research/development, quality assurance, and HIV Surveillance. She conducted quality assurance work as an intern for HHS several years ago. In her free time Sasha enjoys crafts, spending time outside with her toddler and dog, and reading while snuggling with her cats. Sasha can be reached at aleksandra.vasilyeva@vdh.virginia.gov.
