DDP Recruitment has multiple contract staff openings for Virginia Medication Assistance Technicians (VA MAT). These positions play a key role on the Virginia Medication Assistance Program (formerly ADAP) team. MATs conduct eligibility, enrollment, and recertification activities to assist people living with HIV obtain and maintain health insurance and medication coverage, and assist callers on the Medication Eligibility Hotline. MATs manage telephone, fax, and written communication with consumers, providers, vendors, and insurance companies.
Qualifications: strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Google); call center or customer service experience; and ability to review documents with attention to fine detail, work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines, follow instructions and problem-solve, accurately collect, organize, analyze, manage and report data, prepare correspondence, maintain medical records and communication logs, interpret and adhere to policies and procedures including confidentiality and cyber security, exercise sound judgment, communicate and present information effectively, and maintain a client-centered approach. High school diploma or equivalent training and experience; knowledge of and experience with HIV/AIDS health care services delivery, and HIPAA, preferred. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour. Retention Coordinators: DDP Recruitment has two contract staff openings for Retention Coordinators. These positions play a key role on the Virginia Medication Assistance Program (formerly ADAP) team and are physically located in one of the five health regions in the state of Virginia. Retention Coordinators engage in short term and extensive outreach to clients of the Virginia Medication Assistance Program (VA MAP) who do not respond to previous outreach attempts for recertification and eligibility. Retention Coordinators maintain contact and coordinate care with relevant community agencies.
Qualifications: Enhanced care management skills, including care coordination and knowledge of community resources; computer skills; strong communication skills and an ability to present information effectively; ability to analyze and resolve client issues/concerns; interpret and adhere to policies and procedures including confidentiality and cyber security; knowledge of behavioral health principles, techniques, and practices, and their application to complex treatment and services provision; knowledge of and experience with HIV/AIDS services delivery; ability to understand and observe all VDH-required protocols while conducting tasks during COVID-19; and broad knowledge of basic principles, concepts and methodology of human services through experience and a Bachelor’s or Master’s level degree. DDP Recruitment is currently recruiting for several Health Counselor/Disease Intervention Specialists. The primary responsibility in this role is to independently and effectively perform disease intervention activities. These activities include, but are not limited to, notifying persons diagnosed with or at risk for STI/HIV/hepatitis or other communicable diseases; providing partner services to diagnosed individuals and their partners, assisting with linkage to care; and providing risk reduction education to clients at high risk of infection. The incumbent will be expected to provide HIV/STI education and counseling in a culturally competent manner in various clinical and community based settings to a wide range of audiences. Duties include, but are not limited to: interviewing patients and partners regarding STI/HIV information; analyzing and investigating cases of communicable diseases; providing education and risk reduction counseling; performing phlebotomy in community and clinical settings; documenting all investigative activities on appropriate forms and medical records; providing educational presentations to a wide range of audiences.
Multiple positions are being recruited. The primary worksite for each position may vary, but the individual will provide coverage on a routine basis for an entire assigned region, and may provide coverage throughout the state. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required. Individual must be able/willing to travel for one week for required training. Employer will cover travel costs.
Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of public health practices and/or STDs and HIV. Strong written and oral communication skills. Experience conducting investigations and/or research. Ability to work in various settings including clinic and field. Strong computer skills in various computer programs and databases. Experience working independently and cooperatively with clients, healthcare providers and other human services organizations. Position Description: The HCS Data Support Technician (DST) reviews and enters patient and lab information from HIV surveillance reporting forms and lab reports into the enhanced HIV/AIDS Reporting System (eHARS) database; identifies new and existing patient records by conducting record searches in multiple confidential data systems; determines completeness and accuracy of information based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) HIV infection case definition; and updates eHARS database. The DST actively engages in data quality assurance and improvement by reviewing data for accuracy and completeness prior to data entry, and comparing paper forms and electronic records; addressing issues noted in QA reports; assisting team members with eHARS data cleaning, contacting other state health departments when needed to resolve data discrepancies or quality issues or to identify if clients were diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in other states. DST also assists the team in documentation or tracking of QA efforts, and/or update/review of training materials, prepare meeting minutes, reports, and update forms. The DST adapts to special situations, competing priorities, requests for special projects; and engages in internal and cross-team collaborations. The DST provides general administrative and clerical support to the Regional Epidemiology Consultants (EC); and incorporates the DDP’s security & confidentiality processes and procedures into daily responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements: a High School Diploma or GED; prior data entry experience. Knowledge of medical terminology, office practices, telephone etiquette, customer service, quality assurance and control techniques, and Microsoft Office. Excellent oral and writing communication skills. Ability to multi-task; establish and maintain positive working relationships; work independently and as a team member; work with multiple confidential data systems; maintain confidentiality while working with Protected Health Information; work 40 hours a week during regular business hours; adjust work hours, location, and job duties; and participate in training to meet public health business needs, including emergencies.

Position Description: the Data Management Technician assists with statewide STD surveillance efforts within the Virginia Department of Health’s STD Prevention and Surveillance (SPS) program by reviewing and researching patient data reported on HIV/STI laboratory and morbidity reports and entering data into relevant data systems, maintaining orderly file system and storing data in accordance with established protocols for records retention purposes, and processing and distributing incoming and outgoing mail. The Division of Disease Prevention (DDP) is seeking an individual who is highly motivated, organized and detailed oriented, with excellent written and oral communication skills, to serve as a Program Support Technician.
Job Duties:

- Provide administrative support to the DDP Director, two deputies and the Process Improvement Analyst. Coordinate and verify employee travel reimbursements based on policies and procedures, preparing accurate documentation to streamline process and ensure timely payments. Provide administrative support such as records management; document preparation, proofreading and editing; meeting logistics; planning activities; organizing events, taking meeting minutes when needed, etc.
- Manage a consolidated list of telecom, wireless and inventory bills to cost codes, note issues, consult with unit directors and takes appropriate, corrective action.
- Manage DDP organizational (org) chart. Ensure information stays reconciled to DDP Control. Submit DDP org chart to OEpi Administrative Staff Specialist by the 5th of every month. Manage e-files.
- Ensure DDP information on the OCOM Key Personnel List remains accurate (monitor changes to DDP Control, identify necessary updates and notify OCOM and the OEpi Administrative Staff Specialist as needed)
- Ensure DDP Program Org Chart remains current (monitor changes to DDP Control on weekly basis, update document and publish to the intranet).
- Manage centralized list of DDP copier/fax equipment and coordinate repair requests, renew maintenance agreements, ensure sufficient stock (paper & toner) to support daily operations, etc.
- Support DDP Quarterly All-Staff meeting. Set up Zoom or in-person meetings, send agenda to participants, let participants into the meeting, unmute presenters, manage the meeting, etc.
- Update the DDP Directory and send to the OEpi Administrative Staff Specialist by the 5th of every month.
- Ensure the DDP email distribution list is accurate (make staff additions and removals as needed)
- Ensure floor wardens are identified for the three DDP floors. Monitor DDP Control and consult DDP leadership to ensure coverage during warden position vacancies. Ensure designees know how to pull floor lists from DDP Control.

Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is recruiting for a Regional STD Program Coordinator. The primary responsibility for this role is to provide technical assistance and training to DIS statewide as needed for program support. The person in this role will serve as a floating back-up for other Regional STD Program Coordinators to review active investigations and provide feedback to ensure that investigative standards are met, and information is technically accurate for reporting to CDC. Additionally, the role will provide support in training new DIS, including training on interview and field techniques, as well as training for local health department staff.
Additional responsibilities may include: skill assessments with DIS, working with community-based organizations on partner elicitation, and participation in program improvement workgroups. In the event of increases in morbidity or DIS vacancy, this role may be responsible for performing disease investigation activities.

The Division of Disease Prevention at the Virginia Department of Health is seeking a Public Health Program Evaluator to support the evaluation of their Comprehensive Harm Reduction initiative.
The specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute a scientifically sound qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the Division’s eight comprehensive harm reduction programs using trauma informed approaches.
- Develop and execute an evaluation of the Division’s Drug User Health program.
- Perform appropriate science-based statistical analyses, interpret analyses, and produce a written review and present findings to administration.
- Store documents and data, and perform all functions in accordance with agency regulations, guidance, procedures and scientifically sound program evaluation practices.
- Ensure that the project meets all applicable regulations, guidance, and procedures and shall review and recommend policies and procedures updates/changes to administration, such as documentation of standard operating procedures for sound scientific analysis, review, and interpretation.
- Assure confidentiality of participants.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s in public health, community health, evaluation, health behavior, psychology, or a related social science with a minimum of 3 years professional experience required. Experience in developing and executing mixed and/or multi methods (qualitative and quantitative) projects. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s in public health, community health, evaluation, health behavior, psychology, or a related social science preferred with a minimum of 3 years professional experience as a public health evaluator; additional education may be substituted for experience. Knowledge of harm reduction, substance use disorders, and working with marginalized communities is preferred.
Location: This position is 100% remote but travels throughout Virginia and is required to attend meetings in person. A valid VA driver’s license is required.
