Tuberculosis (TB) and Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI) Services

Services

The Prince William Health District provides the following TB services to the community:

  • Tuberculosis risk assessments for people
    • With TB symptoms (fever, night sweats, cough, and weight loss)
    • Newcomers from countries with high TB rates
    • Other high-risk groups
  • Tuberculosis testing: tuberculin skin tests and blood tests (IGRA)
  • Tuberculosis Risk Assessment with testing if indicated for school.
  • Chest X-Ray and treatment recommendations for individuals with a positive TB test.
  • Diagnosis, treatment, case management or co-management with private doctors for all active and suspected cases of TB.
  • Evaluation of individuals exposed to a case of active TB.
