School Required Immunizations
The Central Shenandoah Health District is here to help you and your children prepare for a healthy year of learning.
There are School Required Immunizations for Virginia schools and day cares. Certain vaccines are required for children at different ages according to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) current schedule. New vaccines are added to the schedule as they become available, and are required by law to help protect children from infectious diseases.
It’s important to get your child vaccinated before the school year begins, as schools are required to send unvaccinated children home until they have proof of immunization.
These vaccines are available at our health department locations by appointment only. Call your local office to schedule an appointment today.
Not sure if your child has already been vaccinated? You can request copies of their Virginia immunization record at the link below.
