Virginia Western Community College (Federal ID# 54-1268273) offers “Using the ABC Water Treatment Formula Table”, a math course for water treatment operators, each year during the spring semester – generally in March and April. The course is intended to familiarize operators with the ABC formula table, used for the closed-book state certification examinations, and the treatment processes associated with each formula. The course is offered online only, by real time webcast on Monday evenings from 6-9 pm. Webcasts are recorded for student access at other times. Course requires completion of weekly Practice Assignments and one proctored Practice Exam at the conclusion of the course, taken at the operator’s place of employment or at a nearby community college testing center. The course is 18 hours, 6 weeks, and 18 CPEs are awarded upon successful completion – based on Practice Assignment submissions and Practice Exam grade. Cost is $85. All resource materials required for the course are provided on-line at no additional cost. Class size is limited to 6 to 12 students. Operators may take the course more than once; however, a certificate for successful completion will only be provided once.
Course Instructor is AWWA Life Member Robert Canova. The course is set up for on-line registration and payment only if there is sufficient interest. If you would like to participate in the course, or have questions about the course, contact the Instructor at 540-819-7255 (mobile) or firstname.lastname@example.org in January. Interested operators will receive registration instructions by email.
