Welcome to the Stroke Smart Virginia Partner Recognition Program

About the Program

The Stroke Smart Virginia Partner Recognition Program celebrates organizations that are committed to reducing death and disability from stroke by educating their staff and community about how to Spot a Stroke, Stop a Stroke, and Save a Life.
Any organization—large or small—is welcome to participate. Together, we can make Virginia a Stroke Smart Commonwealth.

How to Participate

1. Educate your team – Make sure your staff know how to recognize stroke symptoms and take immediate action by calling 911.
2. Promote Stroke Smart awareness – Share information within your organization and your broader community.
3. Complete the Recognition Form – Fill out the short online form to confirm your participation and describe your efforts.

What You’ll Receive

• A framed certificate recognizing your organization as an official Stroke Smart Virginia Partner
• A package of Stroke Smart materials, including:
  • Wallet cards
  • Magnets
  • Posters
• Public recognition on the Virginia Department of Health’s website as a Stroke Smart Partner
• An invitation to join the Stroke Smart Working Group
• Official recognition from the Virginia Department of Health

Eligibility

Any organization that:

• Has educated its staff about recognizing and responding to strokes
• Actively promotes Stroke Smart awareness in its community

is eligible to be recognized.

Organizations of all sizes and types are welcome to apply and may also join the Stroke Smart Working Group to help expand this lifesaving initiative across Virginia.
