Statewide Vaccine Pre-Registration System:
Where We Are:
The Central Shenandoah Health District moved into the Phase 1b on Monday, January 18th. We are continuing to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to individuals in Phase 1a. CSHD is also distributing the COVID-19 vaccine in partnership with healthcare providers in our area. If you are interested in receiving information about the vaccine and when it will be available to you, please sign up for our COVID-19 Vaccine Newsletter.
As vaccine supplies increase over the coming months, we anticipate hosting large open clinics to meet the vaccine needs of the population as a whole. At this time, we have limited supplies of vaccines that should be aimed at our most vulnerable populations and essential workers as outlined in Phase 1a and 1b guidance.
Please be patient as we work to provide the COVID-19 vaccine to our community. We expect to be vaccinating individuals in Phase 1b into the spring time. It is our goal to have more vaccine clinics available to persons in Phase 1b as we move forward the next few weeks. This will depend on an increase of vaccine supply to the Commonwealth of Virginia and, subsequently, and increase locally to the Central Shenandoah Health District and our healthcare partners.
Information for those without internet access, email, or with low computer literacy:
If you have a healthcare advocate or family member, please ask them if they can complete the pre-registration survey at vaccinate.virginia.gov. They can use their contact information when completing the surveys. If you do not have a healthcare advocate, please call the Virginia COVID-19 Vaccine Information Center at 1-877-VAX-IN-VA (1-877-829-4682).
If you have internet access or email, please help us keep the phone lines open for those without internet access by visiting vaccinate.virginia.gov or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Our health department staff do not have information about your place on the COVID-19 vaccine waitlist, information about specific clinics, or vaccine clinic registration information. Thank you for helping us serve all of our community members.
Scheduling Your Second Dose:
If you received your 1st dose at a CHSD clinic, there are three ways to schedule your 2nd dose appointment:
- At your 1st dose clinic, there will be a QR code for your to scan with your smartphone and schedule your 2nd dose appointment.
- If you don’t schedule your 2nd dose appointment at your 1st dose clinic, you will receive an email with registration information.
- If you don’t have email or are unable to schedule online, you will receive a phone call from our health department staff and they will help schedule you for your 2nd dose appointment.
At this point, all first doses of vaccine received in CSHD have matched second doses available.
If you received your initial dose outside of CSHD; you will need to return to your original location for the second dose.
If you received your initial COVID-19 vaccine dose through CSHD and need assistance scheduling or rescheduling your second dose, please email email@example.com. Please use the subject line “2nd dose needed” and provide us with the date and location of your first dose in the email. Please be advised that CSHD cannot assist with scheduling second dose appointments for vaccinations received from other healthcare providers.
