Prevalence of No Prenatal Care in 2024

Census tract–level prevalence rates of no prenatal care overall and by race and ethnicity.

Examination of Virginia Department of Health (VDH) vital records data geocoded at the Census tract level to the mother’s home address revealed differences in access to prenatal care by race and ethnicity.

The maps reveal sharp geographic concentrations: overall, the highest rates of no prenatal care
cluster in the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park, where several tracts exceed 30%.

Maternal and child health (MCH) resources are available on the Prince William Health District (PWHD) MCH website.

Greater Prince William Community Health Assessment (CHA) 2025

A collaborative approach for health accountability in Greater Prince William.

The 2025 CHA is a comprehensive report that highlights the health status, needs, and strengths of Greater Prince William. This assessment includes a robust analysis of local health data and community perspectives captured through a health survey and community conversations.

The CHA reveals that residents call for coordinated action to address persistent barriers to health and well-being. Lasting health improvements require more than reporting problems -- they require multi-sector partnerships.

We completed the CHA and now it's time to take action through Community Health Improvement Planning (CHIP) workgroups for Access to Care (Resource Navigation), Behavioral Health, Health Communication, and Maternal and Child Health.
