Emergency Preparedness & Response (EP&R)
Emergencies in Blue Ridge Health District (BRHD) can take many forms – from winter storms and extreme heat to flooding and disease outbreaks. These events all have public health consequences. The BRHD Division of Emergency Preparedness and Response (EP&R) coordinates emergency planning, training, exercises, and outreach. With our team of staff and volunteers, government and non-governmental partners, and residents of our district, we work together to prepare for, respond to, and recover from public health emergencies.

Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)
The Blue Ridge Health District Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a force of dedicated volunteers who stand ready to support their communities in the event of a public health emergency. The MRC has medical and non-medical community members who volunteer their skills, expertise and time to support ongoing public health initiatives and health emergencies throughout the district.
