ServSafe Manager Certification Training – TBA

ServSafe Class Foodservice Manager Recertification Course – TBA

Offered by PVCC Workforce Services

This one day accelerated class is designed for the seasoned foodservice professional who wants to renew their certification and learn the latest science regarding food safety and food borne illness prevention. Operators new to the industry will need to prepare for the course by purchasing the book prior to the class and reading at least the first 3 chapters. The nationally recognized ServSafe® online exam will be administered at the end of the class. You will have to complete a short student registration process with PVCC to sign up for the class and register separately for the exam with Servsafe.

The cost for the class is $129 and there is a separate charge of $36 for the standardized ServSafe®exam administered at the end of the day.  Alternatively, you may purchase the ServSafe Manager Textbook, Sixth Edition with online exam voucher for an additional $68 from the PVCC bookstore.  If you opt not to purchase the book, you will need to pay for and register for the online exam using a credit card at http:/   At the time of registration, you may request to take the exam in Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin or Modern), Korean, Arabic, or Vietnamese.   Students must be able to understand spoken English and read English.  You can also order the book online at:

Safe Food Handling Class

Do you:

  • Shop, prepare, or serve food to the public?
  • Work in the food service industry as a cook, server, chef, etc?
  • Prepare and serve food at temporary events, festivals, fairs, farmer’s markets. etc?
  • Cook or serve food to raise money for your local organization by preparing and serving food at fairs or street festivals?

  • How to prevent or minimize the risk of spreading foodborne illness when preparing or serving the public
  • How to use a food thermometer and gloves properly
  • Understand how the health of employees can compromise food safety
  • Methods to keep food safe and preparation surfaces clean

A certificate of attendance will be issued along with FREE food safety tools
