Dental

• Fluoride program available for children in the school.
• Dental Education

Family Planning

Provides services for teens and women including:

• Physical exam (Gyn and Breast exams)
• Pap smears and STD testing
• Various contraceptives available
• Female health education
• Counseling and referrals as needed
• Condoms are available free of charge
• Referral to Gyn clinic

Immunization

• Infants - routine (required) childhood shots (free of charge)
• Children - routine (required) childhood shots (free of charge)
• Teenagers - booster shots (immunizations for college entry)
• Adults - booster shots
• International (Overseas) travel shots
• Flu shots, Pneumonia and Hepatitis B shots available

Maternity

• Providing prenatal services for pregnant women including: Physical exam (Breast and Gyn exam)
• Lab work
• Fetal Assessment (monitoring heartbeat, uterine measurements)
• Pregnancy education and counseling

Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD)

• Clinical exams, lab work, and counseling
• Information on all STD's available
• Condoms are available free of charge.

Women, Infant, and Children (WIC)

• Supplemental food program for pregnant women, post partum women, Breastfeeding women, infants and children up to age 5 yrs.
• Nutritional counseling and education.
• Breastfeeding counseling, support and education.

Case Management

Baby Care Services

Case management and education services with home and office visits for pregnant women and infants up to 2 years old.

Care Connection for Children (formally CSS or Children's Specialty Services)

Case management is provided to children under the age of 21 with Special Health Care needs. Services included are:
• Orthopedic
• Hearing Impairment
• Neurology
• Cardiology
• Cerebral Palsy
• Cystic Fibrosis
• Urology
• Sickle Cell
• Cleft Lip/ Palate deformities.

Referrals are made to special clinics or doctors to be able to meet the children's needs.

Communicable/Infectious Disease

• Investigation of disease outbreaks.
• Provide immunizations/ medication as indicated
• Provide education to maintain the health of the public.

HIV Services

HIV testing and counseling is offered free of charge. HIV medication assistance program (ADAP) services are available if eligible. Services are confidential but not anonymous for testing. For anonymous testing site in the area contact the Health Dept.

Screenings for Personal Care Services and Nursing Home Placement

For Medicaid or Medicaid eligible individuals, screenings are done by a team consisting of a nurse and a social worker. Determination is made to see if the individual meets criteria for nursing home placement, personal care services in the home or if some other community agency can best meet the individuals needs. To have a screening, contact your local Social Services Department.

Turberculosis

• Tuberculosis counseling
• TB risk assessment
• Possible testing

TB medications available as indicated. Education and counseling available.

Community Outreach

Education

Labor/delivery information, breathing techniques, stretching exercises, medication info., infant (care, safety, feeding and immunization) information, post partum and birth control information given in class sessions.

Upon request presentations can be provided to the community on various topics including:

• Contraceptives
• Sexually Transmitted Diseases
• Immunizations
• Communicable disease
• Daycare
• Health assessment training

Screenings Upon request health screenings are available including:

• Blood pressure screenings
• Lead screenings for Head Start children

Resource Services

Resource Mothers Program

Services for pregnant teens up to age 19 yrs. And their significant other. Mentoring, support, community referrals and education are available throughout the pregnancy and until the baby's first birthday.
