Caring for the Dental Needs of Five Generations in the Lenowisco Health District

girl bitting dentist' fingerDental Health Services: Licensed Dentists provide public health dental services including diagnostic, preventive, and restorative treatment to children in each county. Each county is equipped with a mobile dental unit which travels to various elementary and middle schools within the county providing dental services to eligible students whose parents consent to treatment. Students who are eligible for free school lunches are eligible for free dental services.   Other students' fees for services are based on the health department's sliding scale. Several third party insurance plans are accepted, including Virginia Medicaid and Anthem.

Adult Indigent Dental Care (by appointment only):  Eligibility is determined by the health department sliding fee scale. No routine dental work for adults can be accomodated. Adults must be a permenant resident of the county in which dental emergency treatment is given and bring proof of income to the clinic for the appointment.  Emergency care is provided as time permits, as preventative dentistry in children is the clinic priority.
