The Virginia Beach department of Public Health provides routine Health Department services for refugees. All refugees are screened for tuberculosis infection and disease. Follow-up care and case management are provided as needed. Referrals are made as needed to appropriate Health Department clinic services such as Pediatric, Family Planning and Immunization. Refugee funding assists with payment for services when Medicaid is not approved.
