Food Service Manager Re-Certification - This four(4) hour course is presented
in one Monday evening session each month and provides a review of essential
rules and requirements as well as updates on local polices and regulations for
previously certified managers who need to renew their certification.
Students will be prepared to take the re-certification exam, which will be given
at the end of the class. Upon passage of the certification examination,
participants will be re-certified with the health department as Food Service
Sanitation Manager and will receive the Food Service Manager's Certificate,
which is valid for three(3) years from the time issued. Students must have
English language proficiency, both is speaking and writing, as a perquisite for
enrollment for this course.

Food Service Manager Certification - This sixteen(16) hours course is presented in
four (4) evening sessions (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday for two (2)
weeks and provides all necessary information regarding the proper hygiene and
safety procedures and requirements for food handling in restaurant and
institutional settings. Students will be prepared to complete the NAI
exam. Upon successful completion of the course and passage of the
certification examination, participants will be registered with the Virginia
Beach Health Department as a Certified Food Service Sanitation Manager and will receive
the Food Service Manager's Certificate, which is valid for three (3) years from
time of issue. Students must have English language proficiency, both in
speaking and writing, as a prerequisite for enrollment in this course.
