Emergency Operations Grant Program (deadline February 27, 2009) - The EOC Grant Program is intended to improve emergency management and preparedness capabilities by supporting flexible, sustainable, secure, and interoperable EOC’s with a focus on addressing identified deficiencies and needs. Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Grant Program (deadline September 30, 2009) – This is a multi-million dollar grant program administered by the Virginia Wireless E-911 Services Board. The primary purpose of this program is to financially assist Virginia primary PSAPs with the purchase of equipment and services that support the continuity and enhancement of wireless E-911. Any Virginia primary PSAP that supports wireless E-911 is eligible to apply for and receive these funds either as a stand alone applicant or as part of a regional initiative or a consolidation project.  For more information:  http://www.va911.org/grants.shtml

 

Conference & Education Assistance Program (deadline May 1, 2009) – This grant program is a non-mandated program administered by the Virginia Department of Fire Program (VDFP) to provide financial assistance to Virginia-based non-profit organizations actively planning to host a conference or a symposium targeted specifically towards fire and emergency services providers and their respective agencies.  Conference funds shall be sued for the purposes of providing training to volunteer or career firefighting personnel and funding fire prevention and public safety education courses.  For more information:  http://www.vafire.com/grants_local_aid/conference_and_education_grants.htm
