(Skip to PPCR, Upload PPCR Data, or Trauma Registry)
The OEMS Informatics Program includes the Virginia Statewide Trauma Registry and the Pre-hospital Patient Care Reporting Program (PPCR & PPDR). Two additional programs are in the planning stages and those are the EMS Registry and EMS Performance Improvement. The EMS Registry is the name of the planning project to significantly upgrade the current PPCR program and the EMS performance improvement program is the beginning of a state level QA/QI program. Both of these programs are currently in the process of being implemented.
PPCR and Trauma Registry data are used for a variety of uses including: system planning, system evaluation, grants management, support legislative inquiries, contribute to other state and national databases, monitor triage programs and more. While data from both the PPCR and VSTR are exempt from the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) OEMS fills data requests to EMS agencies, hospitals, the media, researchers, and others.
