The state contract (# 7000-60) for Type I, Type II and III ambulances is no longer in effect. The initial term for the state ambulance contract was good through September 15, 2006. The contract was extended for a period of six (6) months from September 16, 2006 through March 31, 2007.
The Virginia Office of EMS and the Transportation Committee of the State EMS Advisory Board are currently working on revising the ambulance specifications and working with the Virginia Department of General Services, Division of Purchases and Supply to update the general terms and special conditions for the contract.
The Office of EMS will issue a proposal to solicit bids for the purpose of negotiating a new state contract for Type I, II and III ambulances. It is anticipated a new ambulance contract will be in place by late summer or early fall 2007.
