Windows XP Operating System
To install PPDR Version 3.0 onto a Windows XP computer with existing PPDR data complete the following steps:
1 . Back up the file ‘PPCR.mdb’. This file resides in the C:\Program Files\VDH\PPDR directory. Back up this file on another directory on your ‘C:\ drive’ or an external drive (i.e. CD or flash drive).
YOU MUST COMPLETE THIS STEP TO PRESERVE PERVIOUSLY ENTERED DATA
2. Uninstall the PPDR program:
a. Open the Control Panel (click on Start, Control Panel)
b. Open the ‘Add/Remove Programs’ option
c. Select PPDR from the list of programs
d. Click on the Remove Button
e. Once the program has been removed, close the Control Panel
3. Download the program by clicking below. (You may need to right click and choose "Save Link As" or "Save Target As" depending upon your browser.)
4. Save the program to your C: drive. * Make sure you keep track of where you save the file.* (We suggest you save it to either your desktop or to a Downloads or Temp folder on C:)
5. Disable all Anti-virus programs and close all open programs.
6. Find the location where you saved the file in Windows Explorer or My Computer and double click on Setup.exe
7. The installation will begin. It is recommended that you accept the default settings.
8. Copy the file PPCR.mdb from your back up source into the ‘C:\VDH\PPDR’ directory. Select ‘Yes’ when asked if you want to overwrite the existing file.
9. When you open the PPDR software the first time, you will receive a message ‘ Update 3.0 Installed’ Click ‘OK', the PPDR 3.0 software will open to the Main Menu.
