The Office of EMS transitioned to the National Registry at all levels of testing effective July 1, 2012.

All BLS Courses that end on or after July 1, 2012 will test their Psychomotor Exam in Virginia at Consolidated Test Site (CTS) and their NR written exam at Pearson Vue site.  With this change, the Practical exam scenarios and check sheets were modified to follow the Virginia EMS Education Standards (VEMSES). Specific information regarding the new psychomotor exam can be located on our web site at Psychomotor Exam Guide Documents.

BLS Practical Station Videos

Below are the video segments of the practical exam stations which provide an example of what the EMT or Emergency Medical Responder Candidate may experience during Practical Station Testing.  They are not intended to be used as a skill teaching tool.  Candidates and Instructors may use these videos in conjunction with the Station Check sheets to prepare for the practical testing, but individual skills should be taught and mastered within the classroom environment.
